POSITION:                 FACILITY INTERN - Non paid/Working toward credit hours LOCATION:               Baton Rouge, Louisiana REPORTS TO:           Department Directors

Duties:

The Intern may be utilized in one or more of the following departments: Events, Finance & Accounting (including Box Office), Human Resources, Food and Beverage, Operations, and Sales & Marketing. Interns will benefit from working closely with individuals in their chosen fields of study.  As such, the intern will be invited to attend regular departmental meetings, conference calls and seminars and may have the opportunity to participate in various other training opportunities or seminars as fit the needs of the program.

SMG provides its interns with a unique networking opportunity. Because of our large industry presence and our many locations across the United States and the globe, SMG employs hundreds of industry professionals, all of whom may be tapped for their experience and knowledge.

Most importantly, an internship with SMG allows a student the ability to gain valuable experience with the leading company in public assembly facility management.

Qualifications

Besides commitment, enthusiasm, personal drive, the ability to take direction and constructive criticism, and a willingness to learn, an intern must have:

  1.  Completed their sophomore year in college and carry a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  2. Applicants must have a history of relevant coursework or experience.
  3. Experience with Microsoft Office and other software applications is helpful.
  4. Applicants must also demonstrate effective communicative abilities, both written and verbal.

Compensation:  This is a non-monetary internship and must be working towards college credit.  In addition, interns benefit from meaningful work experience, possibly leading to future, full-time employment.

Hours: 40 hours per week/5 days per week in general (specific programs will vary and we will reasonably work with your schedule).

Duration:  In general, internships last 12 weeks, specific programs will vary. Fall Semester: September 15 – December 15 (dates can vary and will depend on the individual intern’s school schedule).

Deadline for Application: Fall Semester – August 15, 2018
